SightCall alternatives when nobody can be on the call (2026)

SightCall alternatives compared by model: live remote support, inspector apps and link-based self-serve capture

In this article

This post in 30 seconds.

  • Pick: if the person on site can film it themselves and nobody needs to steer the camera live, a link-based capture tool fits better than a live session platform. Venta Capture is built for exactly that; SightCall is built for the live session, with an asynchronous add-on called Snap.
  • The split: the six tools below sit on three models: live remote support with an expert on the call, an app for your own inspectors, or a link the customer opens in their browser. Pick the model first, the vendor second.
  • Who this is for: claims handlers and claims-operations leads, service desk and field service managers, fleet and rental operations, property and asset managers who today send people out or ask for photos over WhatsApp.

You found SightCall because you need to see something that is somewhere you are not. A water-damaged ceiling, a fault code on a compressor display, a scratched rental van. SightCall's answer is a live session: your expert joins, the customer points the phone, AR arrows appear, the problem gets solved on the call.

That works. It also assumes two people are free at the same moment, and that one of them is your expert. For a claims desk with 400 open files or a service desk fielding sixty "it's making a noise" tickets a day, that assumption is the expensive part.

This post compares SightCall's model with six alternatives, including Venta Capture. Every statement about a competitor comes from that vendor's own site, and where their site doesn't say, we say so. No feature scorecards, no star ratings, because nobody here has used their products and pretending otherwise would be worthless to you.

If you run a claims team or a service desk and half your visits start with "we couldn't tell from the photos", Venta Capture, VentaVid's guided capture platform, was built for that half: the customer gets a link, films what your flow asks for, and the sealed case lands in your inbox. Start for free and send a test link to your own phone before you read on.

In this post:

The six alternatives at a glance

The useful question is not "which tool has more features" but "who holds the phone, and does anyone need to be on the other end while they hold it". That single question sorts the whole market into three models, and it decides your cost per case more than any feature does.

ToolModelEnd user needsEvidence, in their words
Venta CaptureLink-based self-serve capture, asynchronousBrowser only; no app, no accountSHA-256 seal, session timeline, externally verifiable manifest, 28 control points

VyntelligenceShort guided video by SMS link, AI triageBrowser; no appNot stated on their site
LivegenicClaims-only: live or offline video, guided captureNot stated in the pages we could readNot stated on their site

SightCall itself, for reference: live remote support first, with Snap for asynchronous photo and video by link. Snap content is described as "secured, timestamped, and geolocated". Pricing is not public.

One number to keep in mind while you read: Aquant's 2025 Field Service Benchmark Report puts 14% of truck rolls as unnecessary, one trip in seven. A live session catches some of those. Footage that arrives before anyone schedules anything catches more, because there is no appointment to make. We wrote about that difference in asynchronous video support.

How we compared them

We are the VentaVid team. We build Venta Capture, so we are not neutral, and we have not used SightCall or any product in this list. What we did instead, on 16 September 2026, was read every vendor's product pages, pricing pages, solution pages and help centre, and write down the URL next to each fact. Six axes, the same for everyone:

  • Starting point. Does the product start from a live session with an expert, from an app for your own inspectors, or from a link the customer opens?
  • Live or asynchronous. Must two people be online at the same moment, or can the customer capture now and your team review later?
  • App or account. What does the person on site have to install or sign up for, in the vendor's own words?
  • Evidence integrity, as they describe it. Timestamps, geolocation, hashing, signed seals, external verification. Only what their site says; "not stated" where it doesn't.
  • Who it is built for. The industries and roles the vendor names.
  • Public pricing. Quoted only when the vendor publishes it. Review-site price estimates are not vendor pricing and we don't repeat them as fact.

Where a review site says something, it appears as "reviewers mention", never as a fact about the product. And where SightCall's live model is the better fit, we say so, because a claims manager who buys the wrong model loses more than a vendor loses a lead.

SightCall's own model, including Snap

SightCall is a live-session platform that added asynchronous capture; the alternatives below mostly started from the other end. That order matters when you think about who does the work per case.

On its own site, SightCall calls itself a "Video Intelligence Platform for Service Teams" and lists three offerings: Remote Visual Support, Snap and Xpert Knowledge.

  • Remote Visual Support is the live product: "live HD video, augmented reality (AR), and real-time collaboration", with photo capture, OCR, barcode scanning, screen sharing, chat, remote camera controls, GPS capture and session recording. Customers join "from their mobile browser without downloading software", invited from a CRM, field service platform, contact centre, SMS, email or QR code. Several people can be in one session.
  • Snap is the asynchronous product. Their pricing page describes async photo sharing and async video sharing "without a live video interaction", uploads from the customer's gallery, a request-link generator and sending via email, SMS, NiCE chat or WhatsApp. Their insurance blog says a claims handler "sends the claimant a Snap invitation", the link "automatically launches the Snap experience", the claimant "is guided through evidence collection", and the content lands in the SightCall Console, the claims system or an API. Snap content is "secured, timestamped, and geolocated to help reduce fraud risk". Hashing, a signed seal or external verification are not stated on their site.
  • Xpert Knowledge turns recorded sessions into AI-generated step-by-step guides with human review before publishing.

Industries named: field service, customer service, insurance, telehealth. The integrations page lists Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, ServiceNow, SAP, ServiceMax, Zendesk, NICE, Genesys, Five9, Odigo, Guidewire, CCC, Cotality, Munich Re, RDT, Google Gemini, RealWear and Vuzix. The outcome numbers on their pages (44% fewer onsite dispatches, 69% decrease in claims handling time, 25% higher CSAT) are their marketing claims; we can't verify them and neither can you until you run a pilot.

Pricing is not public. The pricing page has no amounts, only "Get in touch". Reviewers on SelectHub mention cost as a barrier for smaller teams; reviewers on Software Advice mention customers being confused by app requirements and sessions that can't be resumed. Treat both as anecdotes.

So what are you comparing against? A product where the default case is a live session run by your expert, and where asynchronous capture is a feature bolted alongside it. If your volume is high and your experts are scarce, that default is the thing to question.

The six alternatives, one by one

Same shape for every tool: what model it is, what the person on site needs, what the vendor says about evidence, what pricing is published, and where it fits.

1. Venta Capture

Best for: teams that want the person already on site (a claimant, a tenant, a driver, a contractor, a customer) to capture guided video and photos from a link, with no live agent, and receive a sealed case in a shared inbox.

Venta Capture, a product of VentaVid, is link-based, guided and asynchronous by design. You send a secure, personal capture link by email, SMS, WhatsApp or QR code; the customer opens it in the mobile browser, follows the steps your flow prescribes (example photo per slot, instruction overlay while filming, conditional questions), and submits. Your team reviews when ready. Nobody schedules a call. The flow runs in 15 languages, system texts included, and you can read the whole mechanism on the guided video capture and request video by link pages.

Model

Link-based self-serve capture. The organisation decides what gets captured, in what order, with what instructions, so the right footage arrives the first time instead of "some photos". There is no live session in the product. If you need to steer the camera in real time, this is the wrong tool, and we'd rather say that here than on a demo call.

What the end user needs

A phone with a browser. No app, no account. Opened on a desktop, the page shows a QR code to continue on the phone, because the point is footage recorded now, on this device.

Evidence, in our words

Every submission arrives as a structured evidence package: the video and photos, the answers to each question, a transcript of anything said out loud, timestamps, device context, and 28 control points (10 automatic signals, 21 recorded session events and 1 signed seal). The seal carries a SHA-256 fingerprint you can copy and a downloadable manifest that a third party can verify without trusting us. Items recorded in the session are marked "Taken via Venta Capture"; anything uploaded from a gallery, where you allow it, is labelled "Provenance: Not verified" and checked separately.

Why the fuss about provenance? Aviva reported more than 18,400 suspect claims worth £233 million in 2025 and says a growing number arrive with AI-generated images, according to its June 2026 fraud release. In Belgium, Assuralia counted €181 million of proven insurance fraud in 2025, VRT reported, with AI-made photos and invoices as the new tool. A photo that carries its own receipt time, device context and seal is easier to defend than one forwarded from WhatsApp.

Signals are flags for a human, never verdicts. A submission scores green, orange or red against a named, versioned rule set, and every signal carries its own caveat in the interface (several recording attempts are normal on their own; a shared family device produces reuse). The server timestamp proves when we received the footage, not when the damage happened. Harder to manipulate is not impossible to deceive, and we don't write otherwise. The full evidence story is on the remote claim inspection page.

Here is the first-person part. When a test submission lands in our own inbox, you end up looking at the timeline before the video: link created, link opened (server side), recording started, retake requested with the reason typed in, submission received, claimed by a colleague. That record of what happened, when, and on whose account is what a claims handler actually needs when a file goes to dispute six months later.

Workflow

Submissions land in a shared inbox with statuses, assign or claim, internal notes, one-click retake requests (the retake asks the customer why), routing rules with an SLA, and view links for colleagues without a login. REST API, webhooks and auto-forward to your CRM or ticketing system are covered on the workflow automation page. In support and field service settings, teams using Venta Capture report 23% of customer problems solved without dispatching a technician.

Pricing

No amounts on the site. There is a free plan with no credit card, and a standard flow is live in about 10 minutes. Standard flows are adjusted by your own team; branching or integrated flows are set up around your process by VentaVid as paid setup.

Where it fits

Claims intake and proof of loss, field service pre-visit triage, rental and lease check-out and check-in (two cases linked in one file, so both records sit side by side in a dispute), property maintenance and inventory, contractor proof of work, warranty and returns. Staff can also start a capture themselves at the counter or on site, without sending a link. Where it doesn't fit: live AR guidance, OCR of nameplates, AI damage estimates. We don't sell those.

Want to see a real submission on your own case type? Book a demo and bring one of your worst "we couldn't tell from the photos" files.

2. Blitzz

Best for: contact centres and field service teams that want live browser video with a customer or technician, with published pricing for an inspection product.

Blitzz describes itself as "The #1 AI-powered remote video support platform for contact centers and field service teams". Products named on its site are Concierge, Inspect, Co-Browse, ScreenShare, BlitzzCam and an assistant called Owlbert AI.

Model

Live browser video first. Blitzz Inspect is described as live video inspections where users "connect with a single click", with geolocation and OCR collection tools; session data syncs to Salesforce, ServiceNow or Zendesk.

What the end user needs

"No app downloads, no complicated setup. Your customers connect instantly through their browser."

Evidence, in their words

The Inspect pricing page lists date, time and location stamping. Hashing, a seal or external verification are not stated on their site.

Pricing

Published. Inspect Professional is $334 per month billed annually with 600 inspection credits a year, SMS, email and WhatsApp invites and up to 3 participants; Enterprise is usage-based on request with a 14-day free trial, call recording and branding in your own name as add-ons, REST API and SSO. The Inspect product page separately says pricing "starts at $400 per month".

Where it fits

Insurance, automotive, utilities, construction, real estate and government are all named. Reach for it when you want SightCall's live model at a published price, and you don't need a formal evidence seal.

3. TechSee

Best for: large contact centres (telecom, consumer electronics, utilities, insurance) that want live visual support and AI self-service flows in one enterprise platform.

TechSee positions itself as "Visual Agentic AI" with the line "See, Solve, Automate". Products named include Sophie AI, Sophie Live, VRAi, Connectivity Guru and Sophie Knowledge, split into contact centre solutions and self-service solutions.

Model

Live agent video plus AI-guided self-service. Sophie Live puts "live video from the customer's smartphone on the agent's dashboard over web", and the AI can identify a make and model, read text from an image or scan a barcode during the session. Visual Journeys are "web-based visual user flows" for self-service, with expiration windows so a customer can "leave and resume the flow"; their brochure names technical support, insurance claims, warranty registration and technician guidance as use cases.

What the end user needs

"No-app download required" for live video; Visual Journeys are also described as no app download.

Evidence, in their words

Not stated on the pages we read. The emphasis is on AI recognition and automation, not on tamper-evidence or seals.

Pricing

Not public.

Where it fits

Telecom, consumer electronics, smart home, medical devices, retail, utilities and BPOs are named, with customers such as Orange, Vodafone and Verizon on their homepage. Choose it when the problem is contact-centre deflection at enterprise scale and integration with Salesforce, Oracle, Amazon Connect, Zendesk, Amdocs or PEGA is a requirement.

4. Virtual Inspection Pro

Best for: inspection and lending teams that want self-serve guided capture with a live video escalation route and the deepest published evidence stack of the group.

Virtual Inspection Pro calls itself "the most advanced secure remote video and photo inspection and support technology", and it is the vendor here whose starting point is closest to Venta Capture's.

Model

Two modes on one plan: "Guided verified capture" with "Defect and condition detection on every captured photo", and "live video inspections" where an inspector joins, captures snapshots and finishes the report before hanging up. Reports "write themselves the moment the session ends".

What the end user needs

"Your customers join from an email or text invitation" with "no app to download".

Evidence, in their words

The most explicit list in this post: "C2PA content credentials", "Trusted timestamps" anchored to an independent time source, "Play Integrity and App Attest tokens" for device attestation, "GPS lock and geospoofing detection", rejection of screenshots and re-photographed screens, and "A tamper-evident chain of custody for every capture, view, share, and export". If forensic provenance is your buying criterion, read their features page closely.

Pricing

Published. Pro $149 a month (50 sessions), Growth $499 (200), Scale $999 (500), Enterprise custom above 750 sessions with white label and SSO. 14-day free trial on all plans; annual billing saves 15%.

Where it fits

Real estate, building inspections, insurance, business and private lending, equipment financing, auto warranty and product recall are named. Pick it when you want both self-serve and live in one subscription and your industry expects C2PA-style credentials.

5. Vyntelligence

Best for: utilities, telecoms and energy operators that want customers and field engineers to send short guided videos that AI summarises and triages.

Vyntelligence describes itself as "Agentic Video Intelligence" with two products, Vyn CX for customers and Vyn FX for field teams, plus Vyn AI.

Model

Asynchronous guided video. Vyn CX lets teams "directly send customers SMS capture requests"; the customer records a short guided video, and "Vyn Agentic AI will automatically summarise the key site data, triage it and fast track any complex requirements to specialists". Supervisors and L2 agents review incoming video reports on a desktop platform.

What the end user needs

"No app required" for the customer self-serve route; browser-based.

Evidence, in their words

Not stated on the pages we read. The pitch is triage and productivity, not proof.

Pricing

Not public. A trial link exists.

Where it fits

Water, gas, electricity, green energy, telecoms and retail are named, with Anglian Water, Northumbrian Water and VodafoneThree on the homepage. This is the closest thing to Venta Capture's asynchronous model at enterprise utility scale, with AI triage in front and without a published evidence seal.

6. Livegenic

Best for: P&C insurers, TPAs and MGAs on Guidewire who want claims-specific evidence capture from FNOL onward.

Livegenic describes itself as "AI-powered evidence capture, virtual assessment, and automated compliance" producing "structured claims data from FNOL to resolution".

Model

Claims-only: video-first inspections, "live or offline" in their words. Their insurer page says policyholders "capture guided photos, video, audio explanations, and structured responses", with AI-guided triage, voice-to-text notes and real-time validation.

What the end user needs

Their homepage FAQ carries the question "Does the policyholder need to download an app?", but the answer did not render in the pages we could read, so we won't guess.

Evidence, in their words

GPS, metadata, hashing or an audit trail are not stated on the pages we read.

Pricing

Not public.

Where it fits

Property and casualty claims only. Named customers on their site include The Hartford, Assurant and CSAA; integrations named are Guidewire ClaimCenter, PRIME and Wilbur. If you are a Guidewire shop and want a claims-native vendor rather than a cross-industry capture tool, it belongs on your shortlist.

When SightCall's live model is still the better choice

A live session earns its cost when the person on site cannot be trusted to know what matters, and your expert has to steer. That is a real category of work, and no link-based tool replaces it. Keep SightCall, or Blitzz, or TechSee's live product, on the shortlist if most of your cases look like these:

  • The expert must direct the camera. A technician diagnosing a control cabinet needs "no, the other relay, higher" in real time, with AR arrows. Guided steps can't anticipate every branch.
  • You need AR measurement or annotation. SightCall's AR and OCR tools exist for this. Venta Capture doesn't offer them.
  • Telehealth or safety-critical guidance. A person needs to be talked through something while it happens.
  • Contact-centre embedding. If the session must start inside NICE, Genesys or Five9 with the agent already on the line, the live vendors have built those integrations.
  • Knowledge capture from sessions. If turning expert sessions into training guides is part of the business case, that is SightCall's Xpert Knowledge, not ours.

The honest split is volume. Aquant's benchmark found that about one third of service queries can be solved without a professional's help. For that third, a live session spends expert time you didn't need to spend. For the hard remainder, it spends expert time well. Most teams we talk to need both, and the mistake is buying the live model for everything. Our post on live video calls vs recorded guided video walks the trade-off case by case.

How to choose

Choose by model, then check the vendor's own pages for the detail that matters to you.

  • Choose Venta Capture if: the customer, tenant, driver or contractor can film it themselves; you want no app, no account and no appointment; you need a sealed, externally verifiable case in a shared inbox; and you want to start on a free plan this week. Not if you need live AR.
  • Choose SightCall if: your default case is a live session run by your expert, you want Snap alongside it, and you need CCaaS, Guidewire or ServiceNow integrations at enterprise scale.
  • Choose Blitzz if: you want live browser video for support or inspections at a published price and can live with stamping rather than a seal.
  • Choose TechSee if: you run a large contact centre and the goal is AI-driven deflection with live video as a fallback.
  • Choose Virtual Inspection Pro if: you want self-serve plus live in one plan and your industry asks for C2PA credentials and device attestation.
  • Choose Vyntelligence if: you are a utility or telecom and want asynchronous video with AI triage in front of the engineering team.
  • Choose Livegenic if: you are a P&C carrier or TPA on Guidewire and want a claims-native vendor.

Whichever model you choose, the person on site is the constraint. The tools that respect their time (no download, no account, no fixed appointment) get the footage back; the tools that don't get a no-show. If you want to see what a guided, sealed submission looks like on your own phone, start for free and send yourself a test link.

Frequently asked questions

Does SightCall require the customer to download an app?

According to SightCall's own pages, customers can join a live Remote Visual Support session "from their mobile browser without downloading software", and a Snap link "automatically launches the Snap experience" without an app. SightCall also offers iOS and Android apps for adjusters and technicians. Reviewers on Software Advice mention customers being confused by app requirements, which we can't verify.

Is SightCall's pricing public?

No. The pricing page describes three offerings (Snap, Remote Visual Support, Xpert Knowledge) and links to "Get in touch", with no amounts. The monthly figures that circulate on review sites are those sites' estimates, not SightCall's published prices.

What is the difference between live remote visual support and asynchronous capture?

Live support means your expert and the customer are on a video session at the same time, with the expert steering. Asynchronous capture means you send a link, the customer records guided video or photos when it suits them, and your team reviews later. The first spends expert time per case; the second spends it only on review, which is why it scales differently.

Which SightCall alternative works best for insurance claims?

It depends on the model you want. Venta Capture and Virtual Inspection Pro start from self-serve guided capture with an evidence layer; Livegenic is claims-only and Guidewire-native; SightCall's own Snap covers asynchronous proof of loss next to live sessions. If sealed, externally verifiable evidence and a workflow inbox matter most, start with the remote claim inspection page and our insurance claims statistics.

Can Venta Capture do live video calls?

No. Venta Capture is asynchronous by design: send the link, let them capture, review when ready. If a case needs a live expert on the camera, use a live tool for that case and Venta Capture for the many that don't.

What does "sealed evidence" mean in Venta Capture?

Each submission carries a digital seal with a SHA-256 fingerprint and a downloadable manifest, plus a recorded session timeline and automatic signals, 28 control points in total. A third party can verify the manifest without trusting VentaVid. The timestamp proves when the submission was received, not when the event happened, and signals are reasons to look, never verdicts.

Talk to us

If most of what you need to see could be filmed by the person already standing there, you don't need a video call. You need the footage, guided, sealed and in the right inbox. That is the whole of Venta Capture, and it is why we didn't try to match SightCall's live feature list above.

What it takes to start.

  • A free plan, no credit card, and a standard flow live in about 10 minutes.
  • No app for your customers, tenants, drivers or contractors. They open a link.
  • Stuck? Book a free setup call and we build your first flow together.

The VentaVid team builds Venta Video and Venta Capture for sales, service, claims and inspection teams.

Start for free and send a test link to your own phone, or book a demo and we'll run one of your real case types through a flow while you watch. For the wider picture of how photo evidence holds up across sectors, see inspection photo evidence standards and customer support with guided capture.
